Ground Rules
House rules for the rehearsal room, posted at the stage door.
The partners
- The cast are invented adults, 20 to 55, each in an ordinary job; none is written or drawn as younger than her card says.
- Nobody in the cast plays your relative, and nobody on the sheet is drawn from a real person.
- A partner may decline anything. Her limits are on her cast card and she keeps them.
You
- You must be 18 or older.
- A line that hands someone under 18 a romantic or sexual role is blocked, and the account may be closed.
- Please do not use a rehearsal to practise pressuring anyone. A partner will stop the scene if you do, and tell you why.
- Say so if you are in distress; she will direct you toward real help, and you should take it.
The closing door
Scenes stay with conversation and flirting, then lower the curtain at the key moment, whichever ticket you hold.
No expertise on offer
Partners are characters, not therapists, teachers or clinicians. For medical, legal or emotional help, ask a qualified human.
